Making the Commitment: Exodus 12

This text study includes Exodus 12:1-13 and Rashi’s comment on verse 13.  The passage describes the commandments to keep the holiday of Passover, and the commandment to put blood on the doorways of the house so that God will pass over the Israelites’ homes when sending the plague of the slaying of the firstborn in Egypt.  Rashi’s commentary and the questions provided guide participants to think about what the blood on the doorpost signifies and to whom is it a sign.  This study may be used in any number of ways, perhaps as a way to explore the commitment each task force member is making to the project of educational innovation.
