Shira Yoga integrates two authentic pathways: yoga and the global Jewish music of Piyutim, some of the most devotional prayers of our tradition. Awaken the body, heart, and mind through centering movement, live music, and guided chanting of devotional music from Spain, Morocco, Algeria, Persia, and other places Jews lived for centuries. This monthly workshop, led by Rabbi Myriam Klotz and guitarist Dan Nadel, will provide space to explore Jewish creativity and spirituality through the body.
Rabbi Myriam Klotz is the Director of the HUC-JIR/New York Spirituality Initiative and a certified yoga instructor. She is the former Director of Yoga and Embodied Practices at the Institute for Jewish Spirituality.

Dan Nadel is a veteran American Israeli guitarist and composer. He serves as Music Director for programs such as Israelis in Brooklyn’s innovative Shishi Israeli and B'nai Jeshurun's piyut-infused Kabbalat Shabbat Bo-i Kallah.
Shira Yoga workshops are free to HUC-JIR students, faculty, and staff. For the general community, individual classes are $15 (student) / $18 (regular) and the full series (eight sessions) is $100 (student) / $125 (regular); payable by check made out to "Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, Shira Yoga," or by credit card.
