Build spiritual and educational leadership skills through this intensive three-day seminar open to education, cantorial, and rabbinical students and alumni of HUC-JIR and The Jewish Theological Seminary.

Participants will experience capacity-building workshops to maximize thoughtful, well-planned, and skillful leadership regarding Israel engagement. Led by field experts, the program will feature:
|
- Beit Midrash Yisraeli—Learn the nuances of Israeli life and politics through the intersection of contemporary Israeli culture (literature, film, and music) and Jewish texts.
- Facilitation Workshop—Acquire the skills to hold meaningful conversations across the political and social spectrum
- Leadership Workshop—Become more mindful about Israel engagement by examining constructive, inclusive, and practical models for institutional and personal involvement in the myriad issues facing Israel (including designing committees, writing d’rashot, and learning how to issue calls for communal involvement)
- Educational Planning—Take away frameworks and resources for compelling Israel education and programming.

This seminar, limited to 40 participants, seeks students and alumni from across the religious, social, and political spectrum.
|
HUC-JIR students are eligible to earn one credit.
|
Attendees must commit to full participation in the seminar, which will include one evening program either at the end of the first or second day.
|
This intensive seminar is generously supported by a grant from UJA Federation–New York. Participants from outside the New York area will be required to cover their own expenses for transportation and housing.
