Bible, History of Biblical Interpretation, Jewish
and Christian Studies in the Greco-Roman
Period, Rabbinic Literature, Jewish Thought,

resources: the Klau Library network, American
Jewish Archives, Archaeology Center and Skirball
Museum, HUC-UC Ethics Center, and summer
program in biblical archaeology in Israel. You can
take advantage of joint programs, such as Jewish
and Christian Studies of the Greco-Roman World
in conjunction with the University of Cincinnati.

Doctor of Hebrew Letters Program
If you are a rabbi ordained at HUC-JIR (or at
another accredited Jewish seminary) seeking to
further your intellectual journey, the Doctor of
Hebrew Letters Program offers you the opportu-
nity to enrich your life and career. Your flexible,
part-time program, guided by faculty advisors
from our Cincinnati, Los Angeles, and New York
campuses, will allow you to fulfill specific
requirements by guided independent study,
or by a combination of independent study
and course work. You will be revitalized in
your ongoing work as a learned leader for the
Reform Movement and the Jewish people.

M.a. in Jewish studies Program
If you seek to join the cadre of emerging
scholars, you can begin your journey through
our two-year programs individually tailored
to your academic needs and interests as a
foundation for doctoral studies. Guided by
the Directors of Graduate Studies and faculty
mentors on our Cincinnati, Los Angeles, and
New York campuses, this program will provide
you with a mastery of Hebrew language of all
periods, skills to reach seminal Hebrew texts
within their historical contexts, and treatment
of all areas of Jewish studies as they relate to
core academic disciplines, including history,
literature, law, philosophy, and religion.
