Inauguration of Rabbi Aaron D. Panken, Ph.D., as President of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion

Rabbi Aaron D. Panken, Ph.D., was inaugurated as the 12th President in the 139-year history of HUC-JIR on June 8, 2014, at Cincinnati’s landmark Plum Street Temple. The Inauguration was attended by the leadership of the global Reform Movement and featured the participation of alumni, faculty, students, Board members, and leaders of the Union for Reform Judaism and Central Conference of American Rabbis.

Andrew R. Berger, a prominent civic and communal leader of Cincinnati, Ohio, was inducted as the Chair of the Board of Governors of HUC-JIR at its meeting in Cincinnati on June 9, 2014. Berger begins his tenure on July 1, 2014, succeeding Irwin Engelman.
