The following vision statement is from Temple Israel of Great Neck. It defines the goals of the congregation: to model and inspire a commitment to Jewish living and to the discovery of joy, meaning, and relevance of Judaism in day-to-day life. Other goals are also identified, such as: program development for multigenerational learning; emphasizing the importance of Hebrew proficiency and ritual skills; embracing cultural diversity; and to forge a bond between the congregation and the Land of Israel.
