This is a model description from the Leo Baeck Temple in Los Angeles. The description includes background information on the congregation and a brief explanation on the temple’s entry into innovative education. The temple’s vision and mission are outlined. An explanation of the model, implementation process, and pilot program is provided. Three appendixes provide detailed explanations of three models: Family Shabbat Experience, a model geared toward K-6 families; Whole Family Education, in which families will be connected to a chavurah of other families with facilitated discussions, goals, and social action opportunities; and Jewish Life Coaches, in which Jewish Living Coaches help families to develop new traditions, rituals and celebrations while incorporating those with which they grew up.
