Rob Weinberg gave this keynote address at Yachdav—All Together, a gathering of Task Force members from 32 congregations of the Re-Imagine Project of New York. Weinberg argues that “bold innovation is our sacred heritage.” This heritage can and should be applied to contemporary congregational education. Bold innovation, he says, means doing things that have not been done before; asking tough questions; changing paradigms; challenging assumptions; daring to raise the bar; and creating the right conditions for change. Bold innovation, not just small changes and tweaks, is critical for making far-reaching, long-lasting changes in Jewish education.
