Julie Gruenbaum Fax, Education Editor for the Jewish Journal of Greater Los Angeles, discusses how Jewish education has changed since the 1970s. Many educational institutions are trying new approaches to learning, with more student-driven and independent strategies. Seven synagogues in the LA area will work with the Re-Imagine Project to change education programming. Nevertheless, Fax draws on examples from specific congregations to underlie the challenges faced by congregations looking to embrace new ideas.
