This text study includes modern and medieval texts about parents’ hopes for their children, including a letter from President Obama to his daughters, an excerpt from Sholom Aleichem’s ethical will, the lyrics of “Teach Your Children Well,” a letter from Nachmanides to his son, and an excerpt from “Raising Resilient Children.” This study may be used as a “connecting conversation” for members of the task force as well as a starting point for a discussion about the congregation’s vision for children’s education.
